On September 24, Bulgaria will once again take part in one of the most exciting events for promoting contemporary European literature – ‘Night of Literature.’
Well-known local figures will read excerpts from contemporary European poetry and prose, published after 2000 and translated into Bulgarian. The readings will take place in non-traditional venues for literary events, called 'reading nests,' in Sofia and ten other towns – Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Vidin, Gabrovo, Dobrich, Lovech, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Ruse, and the village of Chavdar.
This year, Bulgaria is participating with 22 books from 20 countries, two of which are written in Bulgarian, including one by a writer of Bulgarian origin, Kapka Kassabova.
