''Funds disbursed under all EU operational programs amount to 3.3 billion BGN (1.587 billion EUR). A total of 12 billion BGN (5.770 billion EUR) has been contracted, representing 50% of the total funding. Contracting has accelerated by 50%, and payments by 80%'', said Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev in response to a parliamentary question regarding the implementation of operational programs under the cohesion policy.
"Over the past 8–9 months, thanks to complex collective efforts, we can report progress in the implementation of all programs", Tomoslav Donchev said, adding that the funds under the operational programs account for two-thirds of the country's European funding. ''Challenges remain in infrastructure projects in the water sector, roadways and railways'', said Deputy Premier Donchev and stressed that their timely completion depends on political consensus and the government’s time horizon.
