There is no declared investor interest from a potential buyer and no negotiations for the sale of "Lukoil Neftochim Burgas". This was what Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov told BNT.

Bulgaria guarantees the energy security of the Balkan region, Stankov also said and added that in comparison to 2024, electricity exports from the country have increased by 60%. He gave as an example the rapid assistance provided to North Macedonia when it was left without electricity in the summer.

The "Balkan Stream" gas pipeline will be fully paid off in 2026, the minister said. Stankov pointed out that Bulgaria would maintain its key position in the transit of natural gas. For this purpose, it is already building new gas pipelines that will increase capacity from the Bulgarian-Greek to the Bulgarian-Romanian border.
