Sofia University takes over the presidency of the “Transform4Europe” alliance for one year

At a ceremony at the Vytautas Magnus University in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas, the rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Prof. Georgi Valchev, accepted the rotating presidency of the international university alliance “Transform4Europe” (“Transformation for Europe”). 

For one year, Sofia University will lead the alliance of 11 universities, focusing on artificial intelligence in higher education and research, the university’s press center announced.

With research, seminars, and European academic exchange of students and faculty, the presidency of Sofia University will work on innovative approaches, ethical use of artificial intelligence in academia, and interdisciplinary cooperation. The goal is to strengthen the scientific capacity of the alliance and promote the responsible application of artificial intelligence with a human dimension.
