The “water meter fee” will be removed from the proposed amendments to the Water Supply and Sewerage Services Regulation Act, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov said in an interview with bTV. According to him, the draft law was not prepared by him or by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, but was developed during a previous government and submitted with the understanding that it would undergo changes.
Minister Ivanov emphasized that the draft law was submitted to the National Assembly to avoid putting the implementation of the 2025 budget at risk, as the amendments are part of the conditions for receiving the third payment under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
