The first museum of investment gold is welcoming visitors in Plovdiv who want to learn more about the history of money and its connection to gold – from the birth of gold, its cosmic origin, and its journey to Earth, to how this precious metal has shaped people’s lives over the years.

The organizers promise a fascinating journey through the centuries, during which visitors can discover many intriguing facts – about the first Bulgarian gold coin (perpera) from 1230, when and where paper money first appeared, the value of the Bulgarian lev over the years, what the 50,000 and 1,000 leva banknotes looked like, how the price of 1 kg of bread has changed since 1989, and much more.

The “Guardian of Value” museum aims to improve the financial literacy of Bulgarians so that they can make better and more informed decisions about their finances.
