Four years ago, Ludmil Egov invented a machine for seed germination unique for Bulgaria. Using the machine any family can grow healthy food at home such as sprouts, seedlings and even mushrooms at a symbolic price of one euro a month. These foods have proven health benefits, especially for children. The machine is the best in terms of value for money, not only in Bulgaria but across the world as well. The idea that has led Ludmil to developing this micro farm is to make it affordable for any home.
“It is a mini hydroponic system for growing sprouts at home. Seeds are put into it and the sophisticated electronic equipment takes care of keeping the optimal humidity and temperature in the container. The seeds begin to germinate, grow and then they are ready for consumption. They are known as very healthy food. It all began with my son. When he was 2, his teeth deteriorated and the situation was hopeless. The dentist said he could do nothing to help. Well, I was not as hopeless and did some research to find out that sprouts contain plenty of minerals and enzymes and thus assist the remineralization of the body. I made this machine, and we started feeding him with salads. It took eight months for his cavities to stop developing, and stains and holes on his teeth disappeared. It was then that I knew this food was magic. The dentist said he had never seen such a thing in his practice. For me though it is a fact documented with photos. Now I know that every home needs such a micro farm. This is especially important for kids as the situation with their teeth is awful. Secondly, this food is cheap - one can produce enough sprouts at the cost of just 1 euro a month.”
The micro farm is made to work with the least possible interference. Its electronic unit does most of the job, and does not require any special skills. The machine can run about 10 days with a single charging, so one can go away on holidays and leave it working. In the meantime, the number of healthy-minded consumers has been growing, and interest in the micro farm is on the rise:
“The people buying the micro farm are aware that health is not possible when eating foods loaded with pesticides or ones that are GMO. Growing one's food has no alternative for them. Some have gardens, but for people living in cities this machine is the only way to grow organic food. We have delivered micro farms to Britain, Germany and Greece, mostly to Bulgarians living in those countries. The machine has a 5-year guarantee”, Ludmil Egov concludes.
