Europe has to establish an Energy Union based on interconnectivity in a timely manner, Bulgaria’s President Rossen Plevneliev said during the Global Security forum in Slovakia’s capital Bratislava. The future is not in projects worth billions of Euro. Our future is in the establishment of energy networks and the creation of the European Energy Market. Energy shouldn’t be associated with interests only and should not be an issue of geopolitics. The top purpose of the countries regards the creation of regional energy exchanges that will allow them to trade energy at market prices, President Plevneliev further said. The future energy union should make sure each country will have at least three different suppliers of gas, Bulgaria’s head of state concluded.
