On the second day of his official visit to Austria Bulgaria’s President Rossen Plevneliev discussed with the Prime Minister of the Federal Province of Lower Austria Erwin Proell the perspectives for bilateral economic cooperation. President Plevneliev and Erwin Proell pointed out that the most promising sectors of bilateral cooperation were machine-building, electronics, electrical engineering, IT technologies and textile industry. Nearly 450 companies from Lower Austria Province have business relations with Bulgarian companies and the Austrian firms are to boost their cooperation with their Bulgarian partners in the future, Premier Proell further said. On Tuesday President Plevneliev met with his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer who conferred him with the highest state decoration of Austria- The Order of Merit of the Austrian Republic.
