Governments of Bulgaria and Greece hold joint meeting

Photo: library

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and his Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras are to discuss in Sofia topics related to border security, migration pressure, and the situation after the decision of Britain to leave the European Union, as well as energy projects. Bulgaria plans to participate in a project for a terminal for liquefied gas near Alexandroupoli. It is expected that by the end of the year there will be more clarity on technical, financial and legal aspects of the project. Bulgaria sees this terminal as an opportunity to diversify traditional Russian gas deliveries to the country by securing supplies from Azerbaijan and Iran, with an option for gas transportation to Central Europe.
