A total of 816 illegal migrants have been detained on the territory of Bulgaria in the week from 11 to 18 August or 19 percent more than during the first week of the month, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry says. This means last week marked a record-high for the whole year. The greatest number of migrants detained seeking asylum in the countries of Europe come from Afghanistan, followed by Iraq and only then Syria.
