The ruling GERB party registered at the Central Election Commission its nominees for President and Vice President-Tsetska Tsacheva and Plamen Manushev. Premier Boyko Borissov said that Tsacheva and Manushev may not be the candidates with highest personal rating, but they are the most- prepared nominees for those positions and assured that if GERB loses the first round of the Presidential elections he would hand in his resignation. The nomination of Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva triggered a wave of negative and mocking reactions in the social networks. A user of the social networks commented that “Bulgaria had a Premier who was a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party and soon it may have a President who was a member of the communist party”. Another user commented that Premier Borissov nominated Tsacheva, because “she does not stand the chance of reaching the run-off voting. As a result, the country will face again early Parliamentary elections and GERB will lose those elections, thus having a legitimate reason to get rid of its power”.
