Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov is demanding the withdrawal of the immunity of GERB party MP Delyan Dobrev pending an investigation into the Belene NPP project.

Data have been collected of a crime committed by Dobrev in his capacity of energy minister in the first Boyko Borissov cabinet. The data pertain to actions by Dobrev connected with the equipment for the new reactor for Belene NPP. Just a few days ago Delyan Dobrev was elected chairman of the parliamentary temporary committee of inquiry that should look into the facts connected with the project. Delyan Dobrev stated he would be submitting a request for the withdrawal of his own immunity as MP.
