Bulgaria’s Ministry of Labor and Social Policy launched a new programme aimed at boosting employment in municipalities with high unemployment levels. The pilot project of the programme will start in 14 municipalities in Vidin, Vratsa and Montana districts. EUR 1 million will be granted to municipalities with highest unemployment- Ruzhintsi, Yakimovo, Hayredin, Dimovo, Borovan, Valchedram, Chuprene, Krivodol, Gramada, etc, where unemployment is between 30% and 64%. 830 jobless Bulgarians aged 29 or under and people with low education and without any qualification will be employed full or part time. They will be employed for a period of twelve months at the private sector and the municipalities. The programme is directed to the discouraged people who were not registered at the employment offices. Part of the financial resource will be used for qualification courses.
