President Rumen Radev: Bulgaria is running late with modernization of its armed forces

A balance between the payments made for modernization of the Bulgarian army, acquisition of new military equipment and salaries of the military men should be reached, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev told journalists on Tuesday after he attended the Shabla 2017 international military exercise. Bulgaria is running late with the modernization of its armed forces, especially as compared to our allies in the region which have been spending for a long time 2% of their gross domestic product on defense , Rumen Radev further said.
