After three years of investigation, the prosecutor’s office has filed an indictment to the Specialized Criminal Court over the siphoning off of Corporate Commercial Bank (CCB).

Eighteen persons stand accused for the bankruptcy of the bank, including CCB’s majority owner Tsvetan Vassilev, former Bulgarian National Bank deputy governor Tsvetan Gounev, auditors from the Central Bank as well as members of the managerial team. The indictment runs to the record 12,000 pages. Specialized prosecutor’s office head Ivan Geshev comments that the Corpbank case is unique to Bulgaria and is the biggest economic and social financial scam in the country.
