The incomes policy is of great importance for Bulgaria. Wage increase is among the top priorities of the labor unions, the President of Confederation of Labor Podkrepa Dimitar Manolov told the Bulgarian National Radio on Sunday. As a matter of fact, we have witnessed an increase of incomes in this country recently. However, wage increase started from a very low base. The expected 10%-11% increase of the incomes in the budget sphere is quite reasonable. Of course, I would like to see even higher wage increase in that sphere, but we should be realistic. The efforts of the government aimed at increasing wages are a positive step forward in the incomes policy. On the other hand, the tax system must be subject to some changes, because currently the biggest tax burden falls on the people with lowest incomes, Dimitar Manolov went on to say. The minimum salary should not be taxed. Thus, domestic consumption will increase immediately, because nobody will keep this money at home or in bank accounts, the President of Confederation of Labor Podkrepa Dimitar Manolov further pointed out.
