Residents of six districts in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia are to launch on Tuesday evening a protest against dangerous air pollution. The organizers of the protest claim that the fine dust particles in the atmosphere exceed drastically the safe levels (50 mg per cubic meter) and reach 400-500, and even 1.600 mg per cubic meter. The protesters insist that the municipal authorities should undertake energetic measures to monitor the quality of ambient air and ensure constant control over the incineration of harmful materials. They also insist that Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov should get personally involved in the solution of this problem.
