Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said, in an interview for the Russian TASS news agency, that during the period of transition, relations with Russia were undermined politically and economically, and that now they should be developed and move forward.
“Russia has always had strong economic, historical and cultural ties with Europe, and these are the assets we should be staking on today, because no country stands to gain by the attempts to isolate Russia politically,” President Radev said.
Regarding the upcoming celebrations of the 140th anniversary of Bulgaria’s liberation from Ottoman domination as a result of the Russo-Turkish war, President Rumen Radev expressed the hope that more young people will take part, and also that after the visit by Russian Patriarch Kirill, Bulgaria will receive a visit by the President of Russia by the end of the year.
