The 95th anniversary of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee has been marked with a festive ceremony and planted trees. A number of sports legends, lecturers, members of the Olympic clubs, etc. were present at the event held in the "Vasil Levski" National Sports Academy.
The Bulgarian Olympic Committee was founded on the initiative of the military on March 30, 1923 and its first chairman was Colonel Eftim Kitanchev. Bulgarians, however, had participated in Olympic Games before that date.
