Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emilia Kraleva took part in the discussions, held in Brussels, of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council.
With regard to the policy towards the countries of the so-called Eastern Partnership – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine – Kraleva laid emphasis on the need for these countries to continue the reforms undertaken in key spheres. She stated her support for extending the trans-European Transport Network towards this group of countries, for recruiting more students from these countries through the Erasmus+ programme, and for promoting trans-border cooperation. Regarding the situation in Libya, Deputy Minister Kraleva stated that the upcoming local elections there must cover the entire national territory, and that the preparations for them must not hinder the efforts by various Libyan factions aimed at a new constitution of the country.
