Deputy Minister Georg Georgiev holds talks with president of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs

Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev has met the President of the Chinese People's Institute for International Relations U Hailun. Speaking to the Chinese diplomat Georg Georgiev pointed out that Bulgaria supports and actively participates in the "16 + 1" Initiative.

"We have to focus on implementing concrete projects that have added value and usefulness to the region as well as to the whole of Europe. We want the Initiative to be subject to European rules and acting for the benefit of all countries," the Deputy Minister said.

The Chinese diplomat said Chinese businessmen should be encouraged to invest in Bulgaria because the country had all the conditions for development of their business, and expressed his gratitude to the Bulgarian government for its support for One Belt, One Road Initiative. "Our goal is to promote and popularize people-to-people contacts, leading to closer cooperation between the two countries" he added.
