Bulgaria has well-developed industry, report in parliament reads

Bulgaria is a country with developed industry with an added value share above the European average. This was reported during a discussion in parliament on the topic of "Basic Industries and Economic Future of Bulgaria", which took place in parliament. This country ranks 1st in the EU in the production of calcined soda and 3rd in copper ore extraction.

Statistics place Bulgaria fourth in extraction of gold-containing ores and 5th in lignite coal mining. One fifth of the copper used by businesses in Europe comes from Bulgaria. Another interesting fact is that 25% of aluminum foil used in every household in Europe is produced in Bulgaria. This country is also a major supplier of aluminum profiles. In 2017 the output of the Bulgarian metallurgy reached BGN 9.6 billion and investments in the sector reached to BGN 4.2 billion.
