Chinese companies exploring opportunities for import from Bulgaria

Chinese companies have been interested in importing Bulgarian wine and vegetable oil. They have been exploring opportunities for investments in this country, vice-governor of China's Jiangxi province told Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy Alexander Manolev at a meeting in Sofia. Interest comes from a Chinese company with retail network including 4,000 stores. Another Chinese company wants to import wine from Bulgaria starting with a 200,000 bottles batch. The goal is to increase volumes steadily in order for the product to find its firm place on the Chinese market. Interest has been expressed in other sectors of the Bulgarian economy, too. Minister Manolev pointed out that Bulgaria’s exports to China have been on the rise and China was close to entering the top 10 list of Bulgaria’s largest foreign markets.
