During an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has held talks with President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil El-Sisi. The presidents discussed the fight against terrorism and organized crime, as well as against radicalism and illegal migration. After the meeting, President Radev pointed out that Bulgaria appreciated Egypt's leadership role in seeking balance, stability and security in the Middle East and North Africa.
"Sofia and Cairo are allies in the fight against terrorism," the Bulgarian President said. He added that Bulgaria, as one of the EU Member States that have close relations with Egypt, had a responsibility to help in a way that the voice of Egypt is more strongly heard in the EU because stability and security of Europe depended on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa.
