Bulgarian physician Vladimir Zharov and his team have been testing a method of their own for fighting skin cancer. Creators of the new method show that in 27 out of 28 patients, their system detects tumor cells 1000 times better than currently existing technologies. The great success of their technology, however, is that it manages to destroy a large percentage of cells that spread the cancer in real time. If development continued, the tool the team has created can provide harmless and non-invasive detection and destruction of such cells before they form new tumors in the body. The device, called cytophone, can examine a liter of blood for an hour without the blood leaving the body.
