Germany thanks Bulgaria for adequate response after Thomas Cook bankruptcy

At a meeting with Bulgarian Minister of Tourism, Nikolina Angelkova, during her visit to Germany, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Ulrich Nußbaum, thanked the Bulgarian government for its reaction following the bankruptcy of the oldest tour operator - Thomas Cook.

According to Angelkova, experts from the ministry traveled to the Black Sea coast to assist tourists and businesses in quickly resolving any difficulties. The two sides discussed possibilities provided by the countries’ legislation to reduce the damage to Thomas Cook's counterparties. Minister Angelkova pointed out that Germany was among the three leading markets Bulgarian tourism and attracting German tourists was one of the main tasks of the Ministry of Tourism.
