A bench monument to the great Bulgarian poet Pencho Slaveikov, who died in Italy in 1912, has been unveiled in Milan. The sculpture is work by Adrian Novakov and is located in a beautiful park in the heart of Milan. The monument is very close to Sormani Library, which is Milan's main public library. There guests have learned more about the personality of Pencho Slaveikov, a European intellectual whose creativity connects Bulgaria and Italy. The monument was erected on the idea of the Bulgarian Consulate and it is expected to become a venue for cultural gatherings and other events. This is Pencho Slaveikov's second monument in Italy. The first was mounted in 2007 in the yard of the Library of Brunate.
