Ivet Lalova voted Bulgaria’s athlete of the year for the fifth time

Thirty five year old Bulgarian athlete Ivet Lalova-Collio was voted Bulgaria’s athlete of 2019 in the traditional survey of Atletika magazine. This is Lalova’s fifth recognition. She was also voted Bulgaria’s athlete of 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2012. Ivet Lalova earned this year’s recognition due to her successful summer season when she covered the 100 and 200 meter qualifying standards for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next year. In 2020 Lalova will participate at her fifth Summer Olympics. This year she also won victories at 100m and 200m at the European Athletics Team Championships in Varazdin (Croatia) and the Pravets Balkan Athletics Championships. Ivet Lalova also performed successfully at tournaments of the Diamond League. She won several victories for her Turkish club team Enka.
