EUR 1,264 is the monthly cost of living of a four-member household in Bulgaria (two adults and two children), which is EUR 316 per person on average, the latest data of the Institute for Social and Syndical Studies of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria at the end of the third quarter of 2019 shows. Traditionally, the cost of living in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia is higher than the country average and amounts to EUR 417 per person or EUR 1,666 per four-member household. According to the trade union, 72.5% of the Bulgarian households live with less money.
