Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and his Montenegrin counterpart, Duško Marković, have discussed in Sofia opportunities to expand bilateral ties in the spheres of economy, investment, tourism and energy.

PM Borissov pointed out that Bulgaria was highly interested in the proposal to use the underwater power line between Montenegro and Italy for export of electricity, as well as the idea of ​​participation of the countries in the region in the implementation of Belene NPP. PM Borissov also assured that as co-chairman of the Berlin Process since January 1, 2020 Bulgaria would continue to support the Western Balkans on their path to the EU.
