About 50 people gathered this afternoon near one of the checkpoints in the residential area of Fakulteta, with predominant Romani population, to protest against the restrictive measures introduced there. By 1:30 pm, the Interior Ministry had seized control of the situation and tensions subsided, BNR reporter Nikolai Hristov has informed.

The head of the Sofia Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior Georgi Hadzhiev said that personnel of the Ministry of Interior would remain in the neighborhood so that there would be no tensions, as well as to monitor the observance of anti-epidemic measures.

The Interior Ministry press center also reported that officers had prevented a conflict from erupting after a resident of the quarter sought help because of domestic violence. A police team responded to the scene and the perpetrator was arrested.

Meanwhile, the Romani community in Dobrich (northeastern Bulgaria) donated nearly 3,500 euros to the city's hospital.
