Chief of Defence Emil Eftimov greets Bulgarian military officers abroad

More than 200 Bulgarian military officers from 9 missions will celebrate the Day of the Bulgarian Army, May 6, abroad. In a video conference call today, Bulgaria's Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov congratulated the Bulgarian contingents in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Mali on their professional holiday marked on the day of Saint George, the patron saint of the Bulgarian army.

"May Saint George protect you! May he safeguard all of you who are abroad so that you can safely return home," Admiral Eftinov said in the call. 
The largest Bulgarian contingent of 160 military officers is deployed at the Kandahar Airport within NATO's Resolute Support operation in Afghanistan 
Over 23,900 Bulgarian soldiers have participated in missions abroad since 1992.
