The forecasts are that in 2021 Bulgaria will be able to restore the economic conditions before the pandemic. Even for the first quarter the results are better than the first 3 months of 2019, Bulgaria's Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov told the BNR. The main priorities of the government in declaring a state of emergency were, first of all, to protect human health and to preserve more sectors of the economy. A significant part of the sectors did not stop working, the workforce is in good condition.

The 60% state support measure for salaries and social security contributions has saved 240,000 jobs. Without the "60/40" measure, unemployment in the country would now be 18%, the minister stressed.
