The specialized criminal court has acquitted businessman Ivo Prokopiev, former finance minister Simeon Djankov and economy minister Traicho Traikov. They were accused of causing the state damages of millions of euros during the sale of a 33% state-owned stake in electricity distribution company EVN.

In December 2011, the achieved average price per share of EVN Bulgaria Elektrorazpredelenie was EUR 835, which is 18.8% above the minimum price. Through the stock exchange transaction, the shares were sold for EUR 47.55 million with an initial evaluation of EUR 39.88 million. According to the prosecution, the assessment was manipulated and the actual market price of the shares was 909 euros per share.
