29 cows died yesterday after drinking water from a canal flowing into the river Maritsa in the vicinity of Dimitrovgrad in Southern Bulgaria.

Due to fears of water poisoning by the fertilizer factory Neochim the water supply has been cut to around 50 towns and villages in the municipalities of Simeonovgrad, Lyubimets, Harmanli and Svilengrad.

The water test results are expected today.
