Bulgaria's foreign debt has shrunk by 330 million euros for year

Gross external debt, both private and public has been declining. At the end of May, the gross external debt was EUR 33.974 billion, which is an annual decline of 1% or EUR 330.2 million. This represents 59.9% of the country's projected GDP for this year, according to preliminary data from the Bulgarian National Bank. Compared to the end of last year, gross external debt is lower by 0.3% or 96.5 million euros, as it was 34.071 billion euros, but also 56.2% of GDP in 2019.
