GERB may submit its proposal for Grand National Assembly in August, Filip Popov, MP from the Bulgarian Socialist Party said. In an interview for Horizont channel of BNR, Filip Popov commented that a Grand National Assembly is convened by a two-thirds majority of all MPs, i.e. 160 MPs. He also doubted that the proposals of Premier Borissov regarding amendments to the constitution would be accepted by all parties represented at the Parliament, or by at least 160 MPs. In Filip Popov’s words, “Borissov is trying to gain time and wants to move the “fire” of the protests from the Council of Ministers to the National Assembly”.
