51 days of anti-government protests in Bulgaria, leader of counter-protest beaten up

Tonight at 01:30 in the capital city, Georgi Florov, one of the leaders of citizens who do not support anti-government protests and blockades downtown Sofia, was attacked and beaten up. The attackers were three. Pre-trial proceedings have started.

Blockades at three inersections in Sofia – Eagles’ Bridge, at Sofia University and the one between the Presidency and the Council of Ministers stay and that is why part of the public transport runs with changed routes.

During the last night of civil discontent against the country's government, protesters released balloons in the colors of the national flag into the sky over Sofia - "so that everyone knows why we gather in the evening," explained Arman Babikyan of the Poison Trio, initiator of anti-government protests.

The traditional rally downtown Sofia also took place, BNR reporters informed.

In Plovdiv, about 400 people joined a march against the government. It began with a protest calling for a change in the system. The protest rally passed calmly in the streets and ended with a fire show, BNR Plovdiv reported.
