Police say actions against protests were professional

Everything has been done with the highest professionalism, Interior Minister Hristo Terziyski said during a hearing in the relevant parliamentary commission on the actions of police during the anti-government protests in Sofia, BTA reported.

I would not say that these were protests, as they were declared as uprisings, Terziyski told the MPs. Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Ivaylo Ivanov said the violence was not spontaneous and that there were plans by protesters to occupy the parliament building on various days.

Terziyski and Ivanov said they could not say who paid the provocateurs and protesters on grounds that an investigation and pre-trial proceedings were under way.
