If we stop North Macedonia from joining EU, effect will be devastating

Facts are sacred, comments are free - if this principle was adopted, the work of the bilateral commission of Bulgaria and North Macedonia would start. This was what our longtime correspondent in Skopje Martin Minkov said in an interview with BNR.

According to him, the commission should be permanent, not temporary and should not be limited to history. As a shortcoming, Minkov pointed out the lack of mutual opening of the two countries in economic and cultural terms.

"I hope that Bulgaria would not block the start of EU accession talks with North Macedonia due to disputes between us. If North Macedonia was stopped by us, the effect for our relations would be devastating,"Minkov said.
