Sofia and the first snow for this season – to the delight of Sofia residents.
In the early morning of November 30 the snow in the centre of the capital city was still not cleared. Urban transportation, though, was running on schedule.
The white snowy cover has helped us disconnect for a while from our daily routine.
Pets were also very much delighted by the snow and white freedom.
Sofia-based restaurants and cafes which stopped their work due to the new lockdown looked abandoned in the frosty winter morning.
As it usually happens in these cases, the smaller streets and sidewalks outside the central part remained uncleaned, hindering the movement of locals.
The first snow of the season turned into a viral story on social networks this year, as well. The fact that it is melting fast made many Sofia residents grab their phones and try to capture the moment.
Weather forecasts say that the first snow for the season will soon be completely gone.
Temperatures are expected to rise in the coming days.
The first Christmas decorations can already be seen in Sofia streets.
Traditionally, the most preferred flower as a gift in winter is the poinsettia or also known here as the “Christmas star”.
The shop windows were also all aglow in festival adornment. So if you want to get a taste of the Sofia winter fairytale, now is the right time!
