Nickolay Mladenov has told United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres that he will be unable to assume the position of United Nations Libya Envoy due to “personal and family reasons”, Reuters informed. The U.N. Security Council approved last week Guterres’s proposal to appoint Mladenov as Libya Mediator and Norwegian Tor Wennesland to succeed Mladenov as Middle East envoy.
