Bulgarian students among world’s top debaters

Young debaters from the Bulgarian Debate Association and the Bulgarian Debate Society, divided up into two teams, ranked among the top 30 teams in the world at the Doxbridge Worlds debating tournament for students organized by the universities of Durham, Oxford and Cambridge, 2-7 January.

The two teams – Sofia A (with participants Eliya Panchova и Janin Al-shargabi) and ACS A (with participants Alek Selveliev and Maria Macheva) reached the eighth-finals of the tournament. Alek Selveliev ranked first among the individual contestants, and his team-mate Maria Macheva – third.

250 teams of 500 participants from all over the world took part in the tournament.
