The region of Sofia has the highest road accident death rate in Bulgaria, followed by the towns of Lovech, Ruse, Varna and Plovdiv. The percentage is lowest in Pernik, Turgovishte, Yambol, Shumen and Gabrovo, indicates a risk assessment analysis for the entire territory of Bulgaria by the Road Safety Institute.
The institute uses the Swiss standard SN-641724, as to this moment, Bulgaria does not have an approved risk assessment standard, BNR-Sofia reports.
