Bulgaria wants honest dialogue with Skopje, not talks through media

The EU does not work like Yugoslavia and we have been telling this to Skopje since 2019. Our only and constant message to them is for honest dialogue that is not held through media. This was what Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva told bTV commenting on the latest talks with her North Macedonian counterpart Bujar Osmani. She confirmed that they had discussed the forthcoming convening of an intergovernmental conference and pointed out that the date should be announced jointly.

It is not true that the Commission on Historical Disputes has agreed on the period of the Middle Ages. There is no progress, but regression, Zaharieva commented on the occasion of the online meeting of the joint bilateral commission, which resumed work on February 25th and 26th.
