MPs Atanas Slavov and Alexander Simidchiev from the Democratic Bulgaria coalition have submitted proposals for amendments to this country’s Health Act. The amendments envisage that in case of a declared epidemic emergency situation, this country’s Minister of Health implements a National Action Plan amid pandemic or epidemic containing specific criteria, indicators and various types of restrictive measures against the spread of the infection.
If there is no action plan, Bulgaria’s Council of Ministers shall adopt such at the proposal of the Bulgarian Minister of Health. This must happen within 14 days since the declaration of an emergency epidemic situation. According to Atanas Slavov and Alexander Simidchiev, the bill aims to ensure predictability in the introduction and the cancelation of anti-epidemic measures and to improve the interaction between all state and municipal authorities.
