“At this time of sacrifice and rebirth we must remember the history of this day and choose love over hate, hope over despair. Our two cultures have been enriched by the traditions of the Orthodox Church and in the spirit of this union of cultures I am celebrating with you all,” US ambassador to Bulgaria Herro Mustafa said.

British ambassador Rob Dixon on his part said: “This is my first Easter in Bulgaria and I have not stopped enjoying the wonderful traditions of your country. I wish you all much health, love, luck and happy holidays!”

In its Facebook page, the Russian embassy writes: “Happy Bright Holiday Resurrection of Christ! Here's how the Light Easter was greeted at the Christ Savior Cathedral in Moscow” with a link to the Easter service at the cathedral attended by President Vladimir Putin.
