Bulgaria's caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev told BNT that there was wiretapping of opposition politicians. The information is currently being verified. "When we get acquainted with the result, we will have concrete rhetoric," Yanev said.

The allegations of wiretapping without any evidence are a gross manipulation, which can be compared to the Kostinbrod affair, GERB responded. A statement from the former ruling party's press office reads: "For us, this is speculation aimed at a scandal that would divert public attention from the sole arbitrariness of the president and his caretaker government. We demand immediate inspections by all competent institutions and public disclosure of their results."
