The Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Development Bank - BDB have refused to provide access to the files of companies with large loans, Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov said. He has informed the Bulgarian National Bank over the case and reiterated that there were no concerns about the liquidity of BDB. On the contrary, the treasury has funds that should be immediately invested in support of small businesses, he says.

The Management Board of BDB said that they had provided detailed financial information to the members of the new Audit Committee appointed by Minister Petkov. BDB has also sent an inquiry to the BNB as to whether it has the right to provide access to the Audit Committee to information constituting banking secrecy.
